K.A. Community Consulting is a consulting practice built around the belief that strong communities are created through thoughtful planning, meaningful engagement, and practical action. Since launching in 2023, the firm has supported a growing range of municipal and non-profit clients with projects related to strategic planning, recreation and culture master planning, age-friendly and accessibility planning, stakeholder engagement, grant writing, and implementation support.
Our work is especially grounded in the realities of rural and small-urban communities. We understand the pressures of limited staff capacity, aging infrastructure, stretched volunteer networks, competing priorities, and the need for recommendations that are both ambitious and realistic. That perspective shapes every project we take on, from how we design engagement to how we structure implementation frameworks and phased action plans.
Our approach is relationship-driven, collaborative, and pragmatic. We begin by listening — to staff, Council, partners, and community members — so we can understand local priorities, assets, pressures, and opportunities. From there, we combine research, engagement, and practical analysis to develop recommendations that are tailored to the community rather than borrowed from somewhere else.
We place a strong emphasis on implementation. That means our plans are designed to be useful after the report is finished: with phased actions, realistic priorities, clear roles, funding considerations, and tools that support ongoing decision-making. We are not interested in creating documents that sit on a shelf; we want clients to leave with a roadmap they can actually use.

Clients choose K.A. Community Consulting for a combination of deep sector knowledge, practical municipal experience, and a highly collaborative way of working. We bring expertise in strategic planning, recreation, parks, culture, engagement, implementation, and funding strategy, along with a strong understanding of the opportunities and constraints facing rural and small-urban communities.
Our clients also value the way we work: we are responsive, approachable, organized, and focused on producing high-quality deliverables that are useful in the real world. Whether the assignment is a strategic plan, a master plan, an age-friendly plan, or a funding initiative, we aim to create work that reflects local voice and helps clients move forward with confidence.
